誕生から現在まで
2019年に京都で開催された国際博物館会議ICOMに参加した、日本和紙写真協会の会長を務める写真家の田中伸明が、全裸の巨大和紙写真による屏風作品を、来場した150カ国の美術館・博物館に展示公開しました。その結果、ロシアのオレンブルク美術館から大規模な和紙写真展覧会の招聘を正式に受けました。
翌年の2020年に、副会長の小川卯人など複数の写真家や事務局スタッフによって、日本和紙写真協会が設立されました。
2023年まで、ロシア国内では８箇所の美術館・博物館で、Japan Washigraph Exhibitionが開催されました。

武藤駐ロシア大使が初めて記者会見 中断している日ロ間の文化や人的交流事業を再開する方針
2023年12月に着任した武藤顕駐ロシア大使が初めて記者会見し、現在中断している日ロ間の文化や人的な交流事業を再開する方針を明らかにしました。
「いずれ（ロシアとの）平和条約の締結は必須になります。領土問題を解決して平和条約を締結するという方針を堅持することは当然のことながら、そのためにもロシアとの対話を通じた相互理解を図ることが必要になると考えている」。
12月28日、モスクワの日本大使館で記者会見した武藤大使は、ウクライナとの戦闘の長期化を踏まえ隣国ロシアとの対話を通じた相互理解の必要性を強調しました。
そのうえで特に文化交流や若者を中心とした人的交流が重要だとして、ロシア人の日本語教師を招いたり、日本文化を紹介する展示会や映画の上映など、中断している文化交流事業を再開する方針を明らかにしました。

日本和紙写真協会の作品は、ロシアの公共美術館・博物館にて、３年間にも及ぶ大規模な展覧会が継続開催されています。

パリで美術を学び藤田嗣治などを支援した創業者から4代に渡り、日本とアートとファッションの作家とコレクターを繋いできた特別な存在であるアートサロンathalie様で、日本和紙写真協会の展覧会を開催して頂いたことは、日本和紙写真協会にとって大変名誉なことであり、これからの活動において大きなターニングポイントになったと思います。

増園有麿の作品が大阪に5月1日から常設展示・販売を開始したが、約半年間の期間開催させて頂きました。
会場の西区新町の和菓子のカフェギャラリーの西区新町の餅匠しづくさんに深く感謝いたします。
しづくさんは岸和田が本店、芦屋にも支店が存在。メニューは類を見ない洗練された餅菓子が中心で、総理大臣賞も受賞している。関西のアートシーンでは有名はお店。
アートを核にした神社復興のクラウドファンディング
滋賀県彦根市の写真家シアン・ニクレル（本名：島野修）の和紙写真を返礼品に設定した、彦根市井伊神社旧社殿修復クラウドファンディングですが、彦根市や商工会議所などへの説明が終わり、実際のクラウドファンディングの開始に向けて、準備中です。ご理解を賜った彦根市長など関係者のご協力に深く感謝いたします。

滋賀県彦根市の２校に作品寄贈
日本和紙写真協会のSian Nikuleru氏が滋賀県彦根市の市立城西小学校と市立西中学校へ、彦根市内の井伊神社の桜を撮影した額装されたA全サイズのWashigraphPhoto作品を寄贈しました。
